HELICOPTER TOUR. Summer Series 2018

Summers for me are filled with a lot of new experiences. Although I have been in a helicopter before; to see the famous Niagara Falls from above; this time I wanted to see Toronto from the skies.
I live forty minutes away from Toronto and majority of my summers I spend exploring new things I haven’t done in the city.

Shall we talk more about the heli tour? Well what can I say?! From excitement, to being scared, and then feeling a super high adrenaline filled with a feeling of accomplishment. Yeah that sums up my day. Having my tour in a much smaller helicopter made my experience a little scary. But I had a lot of fun seeing Toronto from above. I will never forget this experience.

MOM JEANS OBSESSION

Is this the end of the skinny jeans? In the past few years mom jeans have been making their way back into the fashion scene.
This style of jeans was very popular in the 80s and 90s worn typically by middle-aged women but now everyone is rocking it. A lot of these jeans are coming back with frayed or distressed bottoms which I think makes them look cool and more youthful.
I am seeing people wearing the mom jeans or the straight leg jeans more frequently than the super tight skinny jeans. That is why I ask myself if perhaps this is the end of the skinny jeans since they have been the most popular thus far.
I still love skinny jeans and I don’t think they are out of style. I think I will always wear them. Although I said the same thing about flare or bell bottom jeans which I don’t wear anymore.
I am still getting used to mom jeans since I am a denim fan and I like trying different styles.

The Merilyn Denis Show

Hey fashionable people,

So I have to confess that I have been obsessed with being an audience member at talk shows. As you all already know I am all about new experiences. I am trying new things, in particular things that I can do locally. Sometimes I find myself more willing to explore while on vacation but I have decided to appreciate the things in my own backyard.

https://www.marilyn.ca/Homepage
The Marilyn Denis Show is a Canadian TV talk show with Canadian and international celebrities. Tapping of the Marilyn Denis Show happens in downtown Toronto. The show airs weekdays at 10:00AM on CTV.
I had an amazing time at the show. Bellow I will provide the link of how you can obtain free tickets to the show. Yes I said free! Fun and friendly staff, the show is very informative with a variety of topics that can be beneficial for our lives.
https://www.marilyn.ca/Tickets
Marilyn Denis just celebrated her 1500 episode. It is amazing to see this show progressing and becoming even better season after season.
My goal is to be a guest at the show to discuss about fashion or perhaps compete on the Battle of the Blogger segment.

Now should we talk about my outfit?
Bright colours look good on TV. When attending a TV show usually the audience manager gives you  instructions regarding the dress code. Wearing colours is not mandatory but simply a suggestion so you can look very good on TV.
I love white so I started building my outfit around this dress shirt from H&M. The sweater is from Guess. I wanted a simple but fashion forward and modest look. I finished off my look with leather pants also from H&M and topped off with my favorite pumps at the moment from Lintervalle a Canadian shoe company.

African Couture Part 2

Dress: Custom made
Coconut bag: Gifted
Earrings: H&M
Bracelets: H&M
Lipstick: Mac
Heels: Zara

Since last year my African Couture was very popular I waned to make another post wearing an African dress around the same time that I posted last year. As I mentioned before I don’t wear a lot of prints, but when I do I prefer African prints.
Unfortunately you cannot find this dress anywhere. My aunt sent me the fabric from Angola  and I took it to my tailor to make this dress for me. I had a vision of how I wanted the dress to look and I was very happy with the results. Mytailor exceeded my expectations so much that with the leftover fabric I asked him to make a blazer. I hope it turns out to be a really nice blazer I will keep you guys updated on how it goes.
Thanks for reading.

New York City. Subway and Statue of the Liberty

Top: Shein
Jeans: Michael Kors
Belt: H&M
Necklace: Ardene

Clear Heels: Steve Madden

As 2017 comes to an end I think of how I have been fortunate to be able to travel to all the destinations I had planed for this year. I hope that in 2018 I will be able to travel often since travelling is something I love to do. From Portugal to Quebec and finally NYC, I am very satisfied with all the places I travelled. It seems that every time I go on vacation I come back more inspired and I learn a lot of things.
As we all know NYC is a very busy city. To catch the subway this empty is rare. I got inspired to take this photo in the subway when I noticed how empty it was. I like to be versatile with my photos and give my readers and other bloggers different ideas for posts.
I can’t come to NYC and leave without taking the boat tour to see the Statue of the Liberty and the breathtaking view of the city you can experience while on the boat. When family and friends are going to NYC, the Statue of the Liberty is always my first suggestion for the perfect sight seeing experience.

Hello Fashionistas!
Have you seen this trend? It seems that the 90s have returned in terms of the day-to-day fashion. Perhaps the 90s never left. The fashion world calls the denim jacket a trend but for me it has always been a staple.
What we are seeing more now is that the denim jacket has more personality and attitude. A lot of denim jackets have the destroyed denim style, oversized style, embellishments with pearls and patches, and my favorite; the embroidery trend. I like this idea because you can make your jacket a lot more personal. Next time I wear this jacket it will probably be “destroyed trend” or with more embellishments.
For me, Guess store can do no wrong when it comes to denim. I feel that this jacket will last me a long time. After purchasing it I took it to the Levi’s Tailor Shop to get my embroidery on the back. Personalizing an item can be addicting because I always want to add more to it. In this case I want to add more words on my jacket.
I hope you guys like this look and can be inspired to recreate this look in you own style.

I had another opportunity to visit Montreal this weekend, and this time I can share with you all my experience. Every time I visit a big city I like learning more about the place. One of the ways I do that is by visiting popular spots. On Friday, most of my day was spent at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
I saw spectacular exhibitions but nothing was more breathtaking to me than the Jean Paul Gaultier Love is Love exhibition displaying haute couture wedding dresses inspired by different ethnicities. How obvious that my favorite exhibition has to do with fashion! In a museum full of art fashion was my highlight. Well fashion is also another form art… If you are in downtown Montreal don’t miss this exhibition before it’s gone.

The Hype Of Freeport Lisbon Fashion Outlet

LOCATION :
Avenida Euro 2004, 2890-154
Alcochete, Portugal

I know its hard to believe but shopping is the least of my concerns when travelling. There are only two places so far that I go crazy for shopping: US and Canada.
If I end up going shopping while on vacation I end up going to a very hyped mall or an outlet in that region usually highly recommended by other tourists and locals. So that’s how I ended up in Freeport Outlet.
If I buy something while I am away it has to be something special that I would have a hard time finding in Canada.
Although many people told me about Freeport and the great shopping experience I just couldn’t feel the same. I spent most of the time sitting down because I was tired of the long walks due to the structure of the outlet.
I ended up leaving with a full belly since lunch ended up being at a very delicious restaurant in the food court.
Perhaps I went at a time that didn’t have a lot of the latest fashion I tend to gravitate towards. If you are visiting Portugal and end in this area check out the Freeport Outlet to have your own opinion of this hyped outlet.

Lisbon At Night

Is this my first night post?
I believe so. Most of my posts have been during the day since pictures tend to look nicer with good lighting.
How do I come up with my outfits ideas?
Well I get this question all the time and people always tell me that I come up with different and cool combinations.
Since I love fashion so much, I have fashion on my mind all the time. I guess just as a musician has a song in mind, or like an artist is always thinking of the next sketch, or as a soccer player is always thinking about the next move and as a chef is always thinking about the next recipe. The same happens to me, I am always thinking of my next outfit.
I start with a nice pair of shoes. Many people start with buying the clothes first but I work my outfit around the shoes. So I buy the shoes first for motivation for putting the outfit together. These Zara heels inspired me to create this night look or “boss lady night look” but I can also come up with an office look based on this heels.

So Lets talk about Lisbon night life!

We can’t talk about Lisbon’s night life without mentioning the party scene where everything happens, Bairro Alto. This part of Lisbon is full of restaurants, bars and clubs. Most people in Lisbon have dinner at 8:00PM pushing for the party scene to start very later.
It is very common in areas such as Bairro Alto, Alfama where you can hear the traditional music of Lisbon – Fado, and Cais do Sodre to find locals and tourists having alcoholic drinks in the middle of the streets without being interrupted by the police. Giving the impression of how people in Lisbon are very relaxed and care free.
