HELICOPTER TOUR. Summer Series 2018

Summers for me are filled with a lot of new experiences. Although I have been in a helicopter before; to see the famous Niagara Falls from above; this time I wanted to see Toronto from the skies.
I live forty minutes away from Toronto and majority of my summers I spend exploring new things I haven’t done in the city.

Shall we talk more about the heli tour? Well what can I say?! From excitement, to being scared, and then feeling a super high adrenaline filled with a feeling of accomplishment. Yeah that sums up my day. Having my tour in a much smaller helicopter made my experience a little scary. But I had a lot of fun seeing Toronto from above. I will never forget this experience.

As 2017 comes to an end I think of how I have been fortunate to be able to travel to all the destinations I had planed for this year. I hope that in 2018 I will be able to travel often since travelling is something I love to do. From Portugal to Quebec and finally NYC, I am very satisfied with all the places I travelled. It seems that every time I go on vacation I come back more inspired and I learn a lot of things.
As we all know NYC is a very busy city. To catch the subway this empty is rare. I got inspired to take this photo in the subway when I noticed how empty it was. I like to be versatile with my photos and give my readers and other bloggers different ideas for posts.
I can’t come to NYC and leave without taking the boat tour to see the Statue of the Liberty and the breathtaking view of the city you can experience while on the boat. When family and friends are going to NYC, the Statue of the Liberty is always my first suggestion for the perfect sight seeing experience.

Hello Fashionistas!
Have you seen this trend? It seems that the 90s have returned in terms of the day-to-day fashion. Perhaps the 90s never left. The fashion world calls the denim jacket a trend but for me it has always been a staple.
What we are seeing more now is that the denim jacket has more personality and attitude. A lot of denim jackets have the destroyed denim style, oversized style, embellishments with pearls and patches, and my favorite; the embroidery trend. I like this idea because you can make your jacket a lot more personal. Next time I wear this jacket it will probably be “destroyed trend” or with more embellishments.
For me, Guess store can do no wrong when it comes to denim. I feel that this jacket will last me a long time. After purchasing it I took it to the Levi’s Tailor Shop to get my embroidery on the back. Personalizing an item can be addicting because I always want to add more to it. In this case I want to add more words on my jacket.
I hope you guys like this look and can be inspired to recreate this look in you own style.

Did you know that Dumbo stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass? This was something I learnt during my City Sight Seeing New York Tour.

Quality vs Price Tag

So for the longest time I kept looking for this jacket from Zara. Every time I wanted the jacket it was sold out. So now it’s back in stores and I just couldn’t pass it this time. The dilemma was the price vs quality. The same jacket came in faux leather and real genuine leather. The faux leather is $89 and the real one is $199. I kept thinking do I get the fake one since it’s cheaper or the real one although a bit much but will last me a long time?

Well if you know me well already I LOVE  a good quality piece (I had to stress out the word love by writing in capital letters). Sometimes I just have to close my eyes and get the item with good quality. I would prefer to buy something a little more expensive if I know that it will be durable and I can wear a lot of times.

Q & A – The Girl Behind Zani’s Styles

IMG_0032

It has been an exciting first year running my fashion blog. I have learned a lot this year. While I was running this blog, I was asked a lot of different questions by my social media followers, and by my friends. This post is where I will answer the most asked questions.

IMG_0133

  1. Where do you get your fashion inspiration?
♦ It all depends on how I feel. I don’t draw inspiration from just one person. Things going on in my life, in the world, the weather, etc all have an impact on how I feel about myself. How I feel about myself is what influences my fashion style.
  2. What advice would you give to someone who wants to start a fashion blog?
♦ First of all, I would say consistency is the key. This is something that I am still working on. Write all your ideas on a piece of paper. Everything you think of make sure to write it down. Have in mind the target or the focus of your blog. For example if your blog is about food make sure you stick to that. Another piece of advice would be to get a good camera that takes neat pictures. Be unique, don’t compare yourself to others. Be creative and don’t give up. Continue to make posts and keep working on improving yourself.
  3. What is your favorite clothing store?
At the moment if I had to pick one I would have to say GUESS. Most of the time when I go in there I end up buying something.

4. What is the most difficult thing about having a blog?
♦ Committing to a steady routine of taking pictures, blogging my fashion and taking advantage of good weather conditions, this includes; good lighting and a good background. Making the blog appropriate to all audiences. I always have many ideas for fashion and  it is hard to pin myself down to just one look. Making this blog easy for women to draw ideas from the looks posted is another thing that I have difficulty with, because my desire is for women to relate and afford the fashion I showcase in Zani’s Styles.

5. Give a few fashion tips for women.
♦Be Flexible. Be willing to try new styles and experiment more. Don’t limit yourself to one look.
Redefine what style means to you. Let your clothes be a reflection of your personality. If you have good style make sure you have a good personality to go with it.
