HELICOPTER TOUR. Summer Series 2018

Summers for me are filled with a lot of new experiences. Although I have been in a helicopter before; to see the famous Niagara Falls from above; this time I wanted to see Toronto from the skies.
I live forty minutes away from Toronto and majority of my summers I spend exploring new things I haven’t done in the city.

Shall we talk more about the heli tour? Well what can I say?! From excitement, to being scared, and then feeling a super high adrenaline filled with a feeling of accomplishment. Yeah that sums up my day. Having my tour in a much smaller helicopter made my experience a little scary. But I had a lot of fun seeing Toronto from above. I will never forget this experience.

This was my first time in Ottawa. Although I have been in Canada for over eleven years I have never visited the capital. This was an amazing weekend. The thing with short getaways is the limited time I have to see the city. I was able to see some touristic points and downtown Ottawa. Since I am a huge city girl I can’t miss what the center of the city has to offer.
The main purpose of my getaway was to go to the Embassy of Angola to take care of some documentation. As I mentioned on my “About” page I was born in Luanda, Angola. I needed to go to the embassy because my Angolan passport is expired. Having a dual citizenship I like to be on top of things and make sure my documentation is up to date.

Hello readers!
I know it has been a while but I am back! Another short trip. It seems that lately my trips have become small getaways. But I enjoy quick vacations too. The only problem is the “I don’t want to leave” feeling that I get when I have a great time on vacation.
Well I have been to New York City before but every time I come to the Big Apple I always have new experiences in terms of the places I visit and the restaurants I go to. There is a lot to do in New York City and that’s  why I love this city.
Today my pictures were taken at the famous restaurant Gallow Green. This rooftop bar at the top of the McKittrick Hotel offers a breath taking scenario with its earthy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, delicious food and live music. For just $30 you can enjoy all you can eat brunch on the weekends and live music. I would recommend making a reservation. I went in the fall and the restaurant was very busy I can only imagine how busy this place might be summer time.

Outfit:
Ladies, here is a tip for those cool days: Wear a fitted dress under a dress when its cold.
I like to look good but being warm is my priority. Today was a mild fall day but since I am wearing a denim dress I decided to wear the black fitted dress underneath for comfort and warmth. Keep in mind the material and style of the dress you choose to wear since a lot of dresses can’t be worn with a dress underneath.
Another tip: Don’t be afraid of alterations.
If you really like something, and believe that you will wear often but perhaps it needs to be altered do so if you think will be worth it. I had to take in two sizes down in the waist of my dungaree dress but I was very with the result. A lot of times I end up altering my clothes which can be expensive sometimes. But I alter pieces that I really like and can’t find it in my size.

I have dreamed of coming to Lisbon, Portugal since I was a very young girl.
Besides the amazing company, the food is what brings me to Lisbon, Portugal. Portuguese food out of all ethnic foods is the best in my opinion.
I will be uploading a post specifically to talk about the delicious gastronomy I have been tasting since I have been here.

Praca do Comercio
Commerce Square

If Lisbon was New York City then Praca do Comercio would be Times Square. This square of the city is a very popular destination for tourists that come to Lisbon. The famous Santa Justa Elevator, a variety of shops, street entertainers and a wide range of restaurants with authentic Portuguese dishes makes Praca do Comercio the place to be.

I thought that this man was a real statue

WORK WEAR

img_0257

Lets talk Work Wear! When it comes to work wear, I am a firm believer in making the work attire as personalized as possible. I say this because many times I see people in dress pants and dressy bottom up shirts and they don’t look like they are having fun with it.

Fashion needs to be fun. If you work in the office, at a bank or another administration sector try to find out first the proper work attire. In many places for example, wearing this Calvin Klein t-shirt is not acceptable due to the fact that many businesses don’t want advertisements logos/brands from other companies advertised when they are not affiliated. Whereas in some companies bringing out your personality through your attire is seen as something very cool as long as you don’t draw unnecessary attention to yourself.

Perhaps what you can do different in this look is adding a blazer or even a leather jacket (without too many embellishments of course)  and you are set for the office. I took the approach of wearing my jacket that can be worn indoors without giving a heavy feel. I tend to wear my coats unbuttoned to appear to be  oversize since is very trendy now.

Work Wear attire doesn’t need to age you. Always try to incorporate fun and elegant looks at your place of work because it tells a lot about yourself.

I am not a restaurant manager, this look was shot during happy hour at an amazing restaurant which I have provided the link at the bottom and

Khaki Inspired

IMG_6364

One of the biggest trends right now is khaki. I have been seeing this colour so much that it has become my favorite colour at the moment. It’s so easy to style. It’s not overpowering, khaki is  simply classy. To me this colour screams fall but spring is right around the  corner and I am still seeing this colour in a lot of stores. Apparently khaki has been in style for quiet sometime. But I have only got into it right now. So I have been feeling like buying everything in this colour now.

Lately jewellery hasn’t been the focus of my outfits. I wear a lot of small rings that I usually shop at Forever21. I tend to forget to take up close photos of the jewellery I am wearing. I promise to start doing that more often. I am enjoying sharing my fashion sense so much on the blog and I hope you readers are too.
