HELICOPTER TOUR. Summer Series 2018

Summers for me are filled with a lot of new experiences. Although I have been in a helicopter before; to see the famous Niagara Falls from above; this time I wanted to see Toronto from the skies.
I live forty minutes away from Toronto and majority of my summers I spend exploring new things I haven’t done in the city.

Jumpsuit – Guess
Heels – Steve Madden
Purse – Dynamite
Earrings – Laura
Bracelet – Forever21

Shall we talk more about the heli tour? Well what can I say?! From excitement, to being scared, and then feeling a super high adrenaline filled with a feeling of accomplishment. Yeah that sums up my day. Having my tour in a much smaller helicopter made my experience a little scary. But I had a lot of fun seeing Toronto from above. I will never forget this experience.

A Day In The CN Tower

Dress Shirt – H&M (Men’s)
Leather Pants – H&M
Pumps – Lintervalle
Purse – Call it Spring
Jacket – H&M

Can you believe that I am wearing a men’s buttoned up shirt?
Yes, men’s wear has become my new obsession over this summer. In particular from H&M since their XS – Small in men’s is a perfect fit on my body. When I want to create an oversized street style then I go for a  medium or large in men’s. I have a future post coming up on the blog where I style a men’s shirt into a relaxed but elegant look. I am wearing a light coat since the beginning of the summer we had some cool nights and I always like to leave the house prepared.

Hi readers,
I know it has been a long time since I have made a post here on Zani’s Styles. It has been a very fun and busy summer focused in creating lots of content for my website.
I hope you all will enjoy my summer series since for the next six weeks or so I will be posting things I did this summer.

There is no summer for me without going to Lavelle. In my opinion this restaurant has the most beautiful view of the city of Toronto.

The Merilyn Denis Show

Hey fashionable people,

So I have to confess that I have been obsessed with being an audience member at talk shows. As you all already know I am all about new experiences. I am trying new things, in particular things that I can do locally. Sometimes I find myself more willing to explore while on vacation but I have decided to appreciate the things in my own backyard.

The Marilyn Denis Show is a Canadian TV talk show with Canadian and international celebrities. Tapping of the Marilyn Denis Show happens in downtown Toronto. The show airs weekdays at 10:00AM on CTV.
I had an amazing time at the show. Bellow I will provide the link of how you can obtain free tickets to the show. Yes I said free! Fun and friendly staff, the show is very informative with a variety of topics that can be beneficial for our lives.
Marilyn Denis just celebrated her 1500 episode. It is amazing to see this show progressing and becoming even better season after season.
My goal is to be a guest at the show to discuss about fashion or perhaps compete on the Battle of the Blogger segment.

Now should we talk about my outfit?
Bright colours look good on TV. When attending a TV show usually the audience manager gives you  instructions regarding the dress code. Wearing colours is not mandatory but simply a suggestion so you can look very good on TV.
I love white so I started building my outfit around this dress shirt from H&M. The sweater is from Guess. I wanted a simple but fashion forward and modest look. I finished off my look with leather pants also from H&M and topped off with my favorite pumps at the moment from Lintervalle a Canadian shoe company.

Slip Dress a.k.a Cami Dress over T-shirt Trend
Where have you been if you haven’t seen this trend? Fashion is all inspired by “night wear” lately. Just when we thought that slip or cami dresses were just for bed, designers were inspired to bring this fabric from the comfort of wearing at home to the streets.

This trend was very present in the 90s and now is back. You can be versatile with it by wearing it with not just high heels, but also with runners or even flat sandals. The slip dress is a very comfortable item to wear because of its fabric. It is nice and soft. But the down part is that this fabric gets wrinkly very fast. So you will need to iron it before wearing it, and as you sit down throughout the day this material tends to get even wrinkled.

I would say that when I saw this trend I wasn’t in love with it because I was seeing celebrities wearing it with t-shirts that weren’t fitted. I wouldn’t wear this loose dress with a loose t-shirt underneath. That is why I paired it with a more fitted t-shirt.

Remember to always put your spin on things you don’t need to stick so much with the trend.

Hello Fashionistas!

At this point I believe you have all enjoyed your #BlackFriday if you are into it. Also perhaps now you getting into the expectation of the #BoxingDay. I am not a huge fan of shopping on those super busy shopping days because I tend to find that most things in my size are usually  sold out. But since the ladies at the Guess store already know me due to the fact that I shop there so often, they were kind enough to make a hold on this maxi vest the night before Black Friday so when I went to purchase the vest it was still available. So this was my Black Friday shopping, and two jackets that I will be making a post with them later on towards the end of winter.

Now lets talk Monochromatic Fashion; What is a monochromatic look? In simple words it is when you wear the same colour top to bottom which is now a huge trend in the fashion world.

I am into the monochromatic looks but usually with colours that I am comfortable with. For example I wouldn’t wear a monochromatic orange look or yellow because those are colours I am not confident wearing top to bottom. I love a white or black monochromatic look.

A lot of you ask me where I wear my looks so I will try my best to mention where I wore certain looks at . This one I wore to an event at the amazing Royal Ontario Museum – ROM.

Drake and Future Summer Sixteen Tour – TORONTO

img_3343There had been some confusion after Drake had announced that he was forced to cancel the final few concerts of his Summer Sixteen Tour. The news broke a few days before this show, and social media went crazy as some fans expressed their disappointment. Fans thought Drake would not show up for the two last concretes in Toronto, but it was only the Sunday concert that was cancelled. Although Drake had an ankle injury he still gave his best on Saturday.  Toronto showed Drake a lot of love and sang along the artist’s biggest hits.

img_3326 img_3323 img_3302For weeks I had been planning this outfit. I wanted to give my readers a different look this time so I went for the #StreetStyle look. The scarf/turban I believe  made the outfit stand out. Being an African decedent, tying wraps is something I learned to do when I was very young.

The Jumpsuit is an example that it is okay to repeat outfits as long as you can style different each time. If you all recall I wore this overall on the Chicago Experience – Art Day Post. We don’t need to buy clothes all the time. Timeless pieces are essential for wearing multiple times.
I hope you all enjoy this look and the pictures. Tag me on Instagram on your creative outfits I want to see what you all been rocking with.

Khaki Inspired

One of the biggest trends right now is khaki. I have been seeing this colour so much that it has become my favorite colour at the moment. It’s so easy to style. It’s not overpowering, khaki is  simply classy. To me this colour screams fall but spring is right around the  corner and I am still seeing this colour in a lot of stores. Apparently khaki has been in style for quiet sometime. But I have only got into it right now. So I have been feeling like buying everything in this colour now.

Lately jewellery hasn’t been the focus of my outfits. I wear a lot of small rings that I usually shop at Forever21. I tend to forget to take up close photos of the jewellery I am wearing. I promise to start doing that more often. I am enjoying sharing my fashion sense so much on the blog and I hope you readers are too.

The Knit Sweater

So it’s really cold right now! Time to get those super warm clothes out. I am not the type of person that would buy or wear a lot of knit sweaters, but in this cold weather a warm sweater is a must have!
Stay warm Fashionistas!
