The Merilyn Denis Show

Hey fashionable people,

So I have to confess that I have been obsessed with being an audience member at talk shows. As you all already know I am all about new experiences. I am trying new things, in particular things that I can do locally. Sometimes I find myself more willing to explore while on vacation but I have decided to appreciate the things in my own backyard.

The Marilyn Denis Show is a Canadian TV talk show with Canadian and international celebrities. Tapping of the Marilyn Denis Show happens in downtown Toronto. The show airs weekdays at 10:00AM on CTV.
I had an amazing time at the show. Bellow I will provide the link of how you can obtain free tickets to the show. Yes I said free! Fun and friendly staff, the show is very informative with a variety of topics that can be beneficial for our lives.

Marilyn Denis just celebrated her 1500 episode. It is amazing to see this show progressing and becoming even better season after season.
My goal is to be a guest at the show to discuss about fashion or perhaps compete on the Battle of the Blogger segment.

Now should we talk about my outfit?
Bright colours look good on TV. When attending a TV show usually the audience manager gives you  instructions regarding the dress code. Wearing colours is not mandatory but simply a suggestion so you can look very good on TV.
I love white so I started building my outfit around this dress shirt from H&M. The sweater is from Guess. I wanted a simple but fashion forward and modest look. I finished off my look with leather pants also from H&M and topped off with my favorite pumps at the moment from Lintervalle a Canadian shoe company.

LAVELLE TORONTO

I have promised my readers more posts from Lisbon. But since I have been back home for a while I wanted to give my readers a break from my Portugal trip and updated you all on some of the things I have been doing lately.
I enjoy discovering new places in the summer, and today was no different. Lavelle is a luxurious restaurant, with a lounge area, pool and an outdoor bar roof top. Sitting 16 stories high Lavelle has one of the best views of the escarpments and the famous CN Tower due to the great location. What do I like about this place? Well first of all I enjoy patient and friendly service. The workers really make an effort in giving customers the full Lavelle experience by being very informative and suiting your needs specially regarding reservations.
Taste some of the most refined cosine by famous chef Romain Avril and don’t forget to make reservations way ahead in advance because this place is always packed specially in the summer. Come picture ready and don’t forget to take that Instagram perfect shot.

For more information pleased check out Lavelle’s website at http://chezlavelle.com/

Cascais – Lisbon, Portugal

Within approximately 31km away from Lisbon you will find this old and new style homes municipal called Cascais. A very prestigious area full of beautiful historical sculptures, amazing restaurants, shops, the Cascais Shopping and of course the breath taking Cascais beach.
A lot of the rich and famous live in Cascais. Many influential people in  Portugal prefer this quiet area to live and relax, over downtown Lisbon.
Portugal’s constructions are a mix of modern and ancient infrastructures. The beautiful colors of Cascais are very captivating for locals and even more for tourists because at times gives you the sense of being in an older historic town with a modern twist.
Although my main reason to come to Portugal was for the gastronomy, I was too busy eating and forgot to document majority of the food. My next post I will talk about the amazing places I have eaten at and some more site seeing I did while I was there.

I have dreamed of coming to Lisbon, Portugal since I was a very young girl.
Besides the amazing company, the food is what brings me to Lisbon, Portugal. Portuguese food out of all ethnic foods is the best in my opinion.
I will be uploading a post specifically to talk about the delicious gastronomy I have been tasting since I have been here.

Praca do Comercio
Commerce Square

If Lisbon was New York City then Praca do Comercio would be Times Square. This square of the city is a very popular destination for tourists that come to Lisbon. The famous Santa Justa Elevator, a variety of shops, street entertainers and a wide range of restaurants with authentic Portuguese dishes makes Praca do Comercio the place to be.

I thought that this man was a real statue

Summer Fun: Beer Festival

img_1052

Hello fashionable people!
Many of my friends who know me know that I don’t drink alcohol and have been asking me “What are you doing at Beer Fest if you are not going to try all of the different flavors of beer?”
I’ll give you all a bit of information about me. I am the kind of person that rarely says “Why?” I usually say “Why Not?” Plus I took some cool beer photos!
To me the experience of attending a festival like this is best with great company. I love trying new things and I wanted to have an idea on how the Beer Fest works. With a variety of food trucks there, a foodie like me is on an amazing adventure to taste everything possible.
Beer Fest is a festival that happens in Hamilton, Toronto, Niagara Falls and other cities in Ontario. I attended the one in Niagara Falls this year. My crowd thought the beers tasted fantastic. The food trucks were delicious as well. I’m not into drinking, but If you are a beer lover, then I believe you should try checking out Beer Fest in the summer.

Port Dover is an amazing place to relax after a long work week. Known specially for Friday the 13th and Labour Day long weekend; bikers find this small town the go to place on those days to show off their most exotics motorcycles and cars.
Port Dover’s main attraction of course is its nature. The lake makes many people dream of a tropical destination. This place is very relaxing and beautiful. Perfect for picnics, walks by the beach, sports on the sand and much more. Don’t forget your sunscreen, and enjoy this hot spot Ontario has to offer before summer ends!

Summer Fun: The Taste of Danforth

IMG_0845

I styled my jumpsuit to be more relaxed for the taste of Danforth. I appreciate outfits that I can dress up or down. The Taste of Danforth is a Greek festival that happens annually in Toronto. Greek food at its finest! Other nationalities bring their cultural food to showcase at this massive street food festival as well. Besides the main focus which is delicious foods, the taste of Danforth also has rides for young ones, live shows for all ages, contests, free things, Greek music and much more. So keep in mind of this festival and be part of thousands of people that come and enjoy this amazing festival.

I hope you all enjoyed the pictures I shared while at the Taste of Danforth. I am in love with this jumpsuit from Forever21. Although not available anymore I still provided the link for the Forever21 website where similar jumpsuits can be found. This jumpsuit is so comfortable. Since I am a high heel kind of girl, I like how long this jumpsuit is because I can wear it with flats or heels. I have to be honest I was disappointed when I put this jumpsuit in the dryer. It shrank 20%. So I recommend not to put it in the dryer, just air dry it. But thanks to Google and all the DIY people share, I hope all the methods I saw on how to stretch clothes will make my jumpsuit look good again.

Blush Pink

IMG_7726

Blush pink was the highlight of the spring. Before the season ended even though I don’t wear a lot of pink I decided to get myself this pink dress. This dress can be worn to a wedding  since its wedding session, to a high end event, to dinner and so forth.

Now my favourite season has arrived. I am excited to share my summer adventures with you all. Stay tuned!
