African Couture Part 2

Dress: Custom made
Coconut bag: Gifted
Earrings: H&M
Bracelets: H&M
Lipstick: Mac
Heels: Zara

Since last year my African Couture was very popular I waned to make another post wearing an African dress around the same time that I posted last year. As I mentioned before I don’t wear a lot of prints, but when I do I prefer African prints.
Unfortunately you cannot find this dress anywhere. My aunt sent me the fabric from Angola  and I took it to my tailor to make this dress for me. I had a vision of how I wanted the dress to look and I was very happy with the results. Mytailor exceeded my expectations so much that with the leftover fabric I asked him to make a blazer. I hope it turns out to be a really nice blazer I will keep you guys updated on how it goes.
Thanks for reading.

Hello readers!
I know it has been a while but I am back! Another short trip. It seems that lately my trips have become small getaways. But I enjoy quick vacations too. The only problem is the “I don’t want to leave” feeling that I get when I have a great time on vacation.
Well I have been to New York City before but every time I come to the Big Apple I always have new experiences in terms of the places I visit and the restaurants I go to. There is a lot to do in New York City and that’s  why I love this city.
Today my pictures were taken at the famous restaurant Gallow Green. This rooftop bar at the top of the McKittrick Hotel offers a breath taking scenario with its earthy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, delicious food and live music. For just $30 you can enjoy all you can eat brunch on the weekends and live music. I would recommend making a reservation. I went in the fall and the restaurant was very busy I can only imagine how busy this place might be summer time.

Ladies, here is a tip for those cool days: Wear a fitted dress under a dress when its cold.
I like to look good but being warm is my priority. Today was a mild fall day but since I am wearing a denim dress I decided to wear the black fitted dress underneath for comfort and warmth. Keep in mind the material and style of the dress you choose to wear since a lot of dresses can’t be worn with a dress underneath.
Another tip: Don’t be afraid of alterations.
If you really like something, and believe that you will wear often but perhaps it needs to be altered do so if you think will be worth it. I had to take in two sizes down in the waist of my dungaree dress but I was very with the result. A lot of times I end up altering my clothes which can be expensive sometimes. But I alter pieces that I really like and can’t find it in my size.

Hello Fashionistas!

At this point I believe you have all enjoyed your #BlackFriday if you are into it. Also perhaps now you getting into the expectation of the #BoxingDay. I am not a huge fan of shopping on those super busy shopping days because I tend to find that most things in my size are usually  sold out. But since the ladies at the Guess store already know me due to the fact that I shop there so often, they were kind enough to make a hold on this maxi vest the night before Black Friday so when I went to purchase the vest it was still available. So this was my Black Friday shopping, and two jackets that I will be making a post with them later on towards the end of winter.

Now lets talk Monochromatic Fashion; What is a monochromatic look? In simple words it is when you wear the same colour top to bottom which is now a huge trend in the fashion world.

I am into the monochromatic looks but usually with colours that I am comfortable with. For example I wouldn’t wear a monochromatic orange look or yellow because those are colours I am not confident wearing top to bottom. I love a white or black monochromatic look.

A lot of you ask me where I wear my looks so I will try my best to mention where I wore certain looks at . This one I wore to an event at the amazing Royal Ontario Museum – ROM.

Summer Fun: Beer Festival

Hello fashionable people!
Many of my friends who know me know that I don’t drink alcohol and have been asking me “What are you doing at Beer Fest if you are not going to try all of the different flavors of beer?”
I’ll give you all a bit of information about me. I am the kind of person that rarely says “Why?” I usually say “Why Not?” Plus I took some cool beer photos!
To me the experience of attending a festival like this is best with great company. I love trying new things and I wanted to have an idea on how the Beer Fest works. With a variety of food trucks there, a foodie like me is on an amazing adventure to taste everything possible.
Beer Fest is a festival that happens in Hamilton, Toronto, Niagara Falls and other cities in Ontario. I attended the one in Niagara Falls this year. My crowd thought the beers tasted fantastic. The food trucks were delicious as well. I’m not into drinking, but If you are a beer lover, then I believe you should try checking out Beer Fest in the summer.

World MasterCard Fashion Week – Toronto – Essentials Part 2 – The LBD

Why is the LBD – Little Black Dress an essential to a wardrobe? Simply you can wear anytime and everywhere. The little black dress is in my opinion the most versatile type of clothing out there. It can be worn to a girls night out, to an event, to work, to a party, fashion week, etc. Put a nice blazer or a trench coat to elevate the look. If you want to wear it more casual you can wear flats or put a denim jacket over it.

Decided to wear this dress to fashion week because of its simplicity.

Wanted to take this time to thank all the companies at the David Pecaut Square who were showcasing their latest products and all the free gifts at Fashion Week. I got some really good deals!!! Fashion Week is also about making connections and meeting new people. It was nice meeting so many other Canadian bloggers, designers, entrepreneurs, entertainers, and media people.
