Intro

My outfits come from a huge variety of stores. From the very high-end stores to things being sold on the streets. I get some of my clothes from places where people wouldn’t generally shop for clothing. Oh, and I can’t forget about the online shopping! … I absolutely  love online shopping. The Intro outfit is an outfit that can be worn to a ladies’ night, out on a date, or even to the movies.

Amazing Find in the Men’s Department

Hello everyone and welcome to 2018. I had no resolutions for this year at all. If things continued to be like last year I would be happy. As long as I am healthy I am content. But as soon as 2018 started many things happened already that forced me to created a resolution. 2018 will be a financial discipline year for me. I have to be more careful on how  I spend my money, savings and so forth.

Today I want to talk to you about my amazing find in the men’s department at H&M. I always had a curiosity to explore the men’s section in stores. At times they sell things that appear to be unisex, trending pieces that women can also wear, items that seem to be more durable and cheaper than women’ clothes.

With the oversize hype going on in the fashion industry more women are shopping in the men’s department to get the perfect oversized look since at times our “oversize” clothing is not big enough to perfectly fit the trend.

In terms of durability I feel that men’s wear don’t tear as quickly or shrink as fast as women’s wear. While shopping at H&M I came across a good sale of men’s button-up shirts. Since you cannot have too many button-up shirts I couldn’t leave this clothing item behind. The quality of this shirt is awesome I feel that it will last me a very long time. The dress shirts for women were $20 so finding this one for only $7 in the men’s department was a good deal.

Tips for women when shopping in the men’s department/stores:
1– Be open minded
Don’t think that just because is men’s wear it won’t look good on you
2– Try on the item
Since men’s sizes are usually bigger than women’s make sure you always try the item
3– Reflect your style in the garment…
If you don’t want to look boyish put a spin into the garment by adding some very feminine pieces to go with it. For example: pretty accessories like earrings or necklaces, heels and purses.

Jet Set Black. 2017 Recap

 Fedora Hat – Winners
Viscose Shirt – H&M
Leather Trousers – H&M (similar)
Jacket – (unavailable VS Catalogue)
Pumps – Zara
Necklace – Ardene

The American dictionary has different meanings for the term Jet Set. When I refer to Jet Set Black I am talking about a full monochromatic black look. 2017 has been a year for monochromatic looks. It was my favorite trend this year and I believe we will continue to see this trend in 2018.
My jet set black look is how I like to dress for fashion events. I like to show that black doesn’t need to be boring. The hat on this look adds a little drama to the attire making it fun and more sophisticated.
2017 has been a great year for me as I mentioned in my previous post I was able make it to all the trips I had planned and I enjoyed them tremendously.
I want to thank all of my supporters for the inspiring messages that continue to keep me more motivated to continue to pursue my passion for fashion.
Stay tuned for my next post…

As 2017 comes to an end I think of how I have been fortunate to be able to travel to all the destinations I had planed for this year. I hope that in 2018 I will be able to travel often since travelling is something I love to do. From Portugal to Quebec and finally NYC, I am very satisfied with all the places I travelled. It seems that every time I go on vacation I come back more inspired and I learn a lot of things.
As we all know NYC is a very busy city. To catch the subway this empty is rare. I got inspired to take this photo in the subway when I noticed how empty it was. I like to be versatile with my photos and give my readers and other bloggers different ideas for posts.
I can’t come to NYC and leave without taking the boat tour to see the Statue of the Liberty and the breathtaking view of the city you can experience while on the boat. When family and friends are going to NYC, the Statue of the Liberty is always my first suggestion for the perfect sight seeing experience.

Hello Fashionistas!
Have you seen this trend? It seems that the 90s have returned in terms of the day-to-day fashion. Perhaps the 90s never left. The fashion world calls the denim jacket a trend but for me it has always been a staple.
What we are seeing more now is that the denim jacket has more personality and attitude. A lot of denim jackets have the destroyed denim style, oversized style, embellishments with pearls and patches, and my favorite; the embroidery trend. I like this idea because you can make your jacket a lot more personal. Next time I wear this jacket it will probably be “destroyed trend” or with more embellishments.
For me, Guess store can do no wrong when it comes to denim. I feel that this jacket will last me a long time. After purchasing it I took it to the Levi’s Tailor Shop to get my embroidery on the back. Personalizing an item can be addicting because I always want to add more to it. In this case I want to add more words on my jacket.
I hope you guys like this look and can be inspired to recreate this look in you own style.

Hello readers!
I know it has been a while but I am back! Another short trip. It seems that lately my trips have become small getaways. But I enjoy quick vacations too. The only problem is the “I don’t want to leave” feeling that I get when I have a great time on vacation.
Well I have been to New York City before but every time I come to the Big Apple I always have new experiences in terms of the places I visit and the restaurants I go to. There is a lot to do in New York City and that’s  why I love this city.
Today my pictures were taken at the famous restaurant Gallow Green. This rooftop bar at the top of the McKittrick Hotel offers a breath taking scenario with its earthy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, delicious food and live music. For just $30 you can enjoy all you can eat brunch on the weekends and live music. I would recommend making a reservation. I went in the fall and the restaurant was very busy I can only imagine how busy this place might be summer time.

Outfit:
Ladies, here is a tip for those cool days: Wear a fitted dress under a dress when its cold.
I like to look good but being warm is my priority. Today was a mild fall day but since I am wearing a denim dress I decided to wear the black fitted dress underneath for comfort and warmth. Keep in mind the material and style of the dress you choose to wear since a lot of dresses can’t be worn with a dress underneath.
Another tip: Don’t be afraid of alterations.
If you really like something, and believe that you will wear often but perhaps it needs to be altered do so if you think will be worth it. I had to take in two sizes down in the waist of my dungaree dress but I was very with the result. A lot of times I end up altering my clothes which can be expensive sometimes. But I alter pieces that I really like and can’t find it in my size.

A vineyard located in Magog,  approximately two and a half  hours away from downtown Quebec.
Since I don’t like to drink alcohol, I spent majority of the time taking pictures in the beautiful vineyard and appreciating the peaceful town.
This place seems to be the to go to winery in this area. My friends seemed to have a really good time. This winery is visited by locals and many tourists.

MONTREAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS

I had another opportunity to visit Montreal this weekend, and this time I can share with you all my experience. Every time I visit a big city I like learning more about the place. One of the ways I do that is by visiting popular spots. On Friday, most of my day was spent at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
I saw spectacular exhibitions but nothing was more breathtaking to me than the Jean Paul Gaultier Love is Love exhibition displaying haute couture wedding dresses inspired by different ethnicities. How obvious that my favorite exhibition has to do with fashion! In a museum full of art fashion was my highlight. Well fashion is also another form art… If you are in downtown Montreal don’t miss this exhibition before it’s gone.

LAVELLE TORONTO

I have promised my readers more posts from Lisbon. But since I have been back home for a while I wanted to give my readers a break from my Portugal trip and updated you all on some of the things I have been doing lately.
I enjoy discovering new places in the summer, and today was no different. Lavelle is a luxurious restaurant, with a lounge area, pool and an outdoor bar roof top. Sitting 16 stories high Lavelle has one of the best views of the escarpments and the famous CN Tower due to the great location. What do I like about this place? Well first of all I enjoy patient and friendly service. The workers really make an effort in giving customers the full Lavelle experience by being very informative and suiting your needs specially regarding reservations.
Taste some of the most refined cosine by famous chef Romain Avril and don’t forget to make reservations way ahead in advance because this place is always packed specially in the summer. Come picture ready and don’t forget to take that Instagram perfect shot.

For more information pleased check out Lavelle’s website at http://chezlavelle.com/
